Thin film module contacting lines.
Description The ecoContact™
is a concept which has been developed to carry out
fully-automated contacting processes to manufacture
powerful thin film solar modules.
Electrical connections are made through a unique
combination of special conductive adhesives, tinned-copper
ribbons and a highly reliable soldering technique.
Technically advanced processing stations can be flexibly
combined to create a complete contacting line to meet
specific customer process requirements.
Similarly to contacting cells in the conventional
way using longitudinal, pre-tinned copper tapes, the
ecoContact™ system can also be utilised to establish
the necessary
cross-contacting (bussing) of photovoltaic modules,
including the automatic application of insulation
tape onto the active layer.
Together with our cleanroom suitable conveyors, ecoContact™
forms a complete production structure for all back-end
contacting operations in the manufacture of thin film
solar modules.
Flexibility
ecoContact™ can be offered as a stand-alone
laboratory cell for development and low production
runs, or in combination as a complete high speed turn-key
contacting line.
A recipe driven control system allows for multiple
contacting configurations to be recalled, edited and
saved; thus allowing for flexible contacting configurations
and module sizes.
The system is configured to meet your required cycle
times!
Applications Dispensing
(automatic dispensing of liquid conductive adhesive
onto the glass substrate)
Contacting (automatic placement of ribbon/bus-bar
onto the glass substrate)
Curing (automatic hardening of the conductive
adhesive)
Insulating Film (automatic application of
insulating tape to isolate the bus-bars from the active
layer)
Bussing (cross-contacting of ribbon/bus-bar,
finals are prepared for junction box assembly)
